Pp is for Pet

We had a very special week, because we got to talk about our pets, play with my pets, and we had two birthday parties.

I'm going to write about each chunk, so scroll down to read more.

Here the children are having a discussion about pets before the stories are read:

We're learning about the sound of the letter Pp:

"/p/ /p/ /p/ popcorn"

Singing songs during music time in Preschool:

One of our centers during Preschool - putting pegs into the peg boards:

Here is the other center for Preschool - replacing words in the Nursery Rhyme - "Little Boy Blue", making it silly and fun:

Learning about the letter Pp in Preschool- it's sound, the shape, and words that start with Pp:

A fun birthday party with pizza and ice cream (ironically matching this week's letter "pizza" and next week's "ice cream"):

Picking a birthday present from the birthday box:

These are music sticks made of bamboo!  How fun.

Picture time:

Our second birthday party in the other class:

 Yum - donuts!

Opening up his present:

Bells on a stick with streamers:

Picture time:

Here we're getting to know the story of "The Tortoise and the Hare" by following the sequence of the story by pointing to the picture that matches:

Here the children are putting the pictures in order from first to last for the story of "The Tortoise and the Hare".

How fun - here we are getting a chance to see the tricks that my dogs can do:

One of the tricks - dancing:

Here, we are finishing up our paper collage by making accordion folded paper and taping to our paper:

One of our newest rhymes is "Jack Be Nimble" and they have been jumping over the candle stick.

Circle time - we are reviewing and learning about the number 12:

Listening to the books about pets:

We were supposed to rotate between three groups and finish our science, but it totally slipped my mind, so the children did some letter review activities like making playdo letters and matching capitals and lowercases.

I try to post my blogs right after the week is over.  I have been trying to get ready for next school year and have not been able to work on the blogs until now.  My updated website for next school year is: http://www.frenchvalleykpreppreschool.com/index.htm

The next week is the theme: Ii is for If You Give a ... book series by Laura Numeroff and the number 13.
